The Battle of Unity Alternate was fought between the Alliance First Fleet and the Defender Fleet (a.k.a The Dark Fleet). The battle was fought in Unity Alternate, a binary star, which the Defender Fleet was using as a base. The battle ended when Victoria Rione blew up the hypernet gate and destroyed the Defender Fleet.

Most of the Fleet jumps out and heads back to Varandal for repairs, whilst Dauntless and Mistral detach and make their way towards Unity.
The 24 surviving Dancer ships jump across Syndicate space and arrive at Midway from the jump point for the Kane system.
